KENSINGTON PANORAMIC MID CENTURY
REMODEL & EXPANSION

KENSINGTON PANORAMIC MID CENTURY MODERN REMODEL & EXPANSION
This remodel was completed in three phases under the guide of the Fischer Architecture firm (our first engagement in fact) As such we were presented with the unique challenges of creating a scalable system, with a head end built into the smallest additional structure of the property in phase one, and then expanding that into two wings of the main property structure over the coming years, all while maintaining and improving functionality of each area, and working within the unique design of this home, originally built by Henry Hill in 19XX. The owners had a small but manageable tolerance for device visibility, which afforded us just enough room to select unique products that provide excellent quality while blending into their surroundings, such as the JBL MicroLineArray speakers for the slat fin fence surrounding the pool, Sonance Extreme weather speakers recessed into a custom poured concrete bench spanning the Mt Tam view, and Nakymatone Invisible speakers paired with a concealed Artison subwoofer for the Poolhaus media system. Incidentally, the outdoor audio zones also feature an array of landscape speakers along a trail on the ground, and subterraean subwoofer, all of which are driven by a DSP which automatically configures the zone delay time & subwoofer level, depending on which zones are turned on and what the air temperature is, for optimal acoustic performance in the overlapping zones of the outdoor living area. The full system is driven by a Crestron processor with one of our custom user interfaces, 16 audio zones, 3 Video rooms, expansive WiFi and a Gigabit network, custom surveillance, and custom scheduling for several dozen motorized shades (duly required by the full exposure on 270 degrees of view)
